Standard Events
In this Alosant™ Product Highlight, we dive into features utilized for a Standard Event.
A Standard Event does not require payment, reservation, or a maximum capacity. Plan Standard Events such as weekly trivia or open yoga in the park using communication features like Curated Lists andCall/Text/Email Buttons.

Event Formats

Display an event within the app using four formats.
Scenario: Promote a Community Barbeque.
Single Day Event
Most commonly used for a one-day event.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select regular as the category. Enter the details, date, and time of the event.
- How it Works: Resident sees general event information in the event Custom Menu.
Scenario: Host Friday morning yoga in the park.
Recurring Event
An event that frequently repeats. Manage and update occurrences from one place.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select recurring regular as the category. Enter all of the details, dates, and times of the event.
- How it Works: Resident views the upcoming event and all future event dates in the event Custom Menu.
Scenario: Plan a summer kids camp.
Multi-Day Event
Manage and update event details in one place for an event that spans over multiple continuous days.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select multi-day as the category. Enter all of the details, dates, and times of the event.
- How it Works: Resident sees a single event tile with all included days and times in the event Custom Menu.
Scenario: Organize a father and daughter dance at the clubhouse for children 12 and younger.
Family Event
Allow residents to reserve family members for an event. This format includes age restrictions.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select family event as the category. Enter all of the details, dates, and times of the event.
- How it Works: Resident adds family members associated with their profile when reserving. See Family Profiles within the Activation Hub for more details.
Smart Buttons

Use buttons to pre-populate information allowing a resident to perform quick actions.
Scenario: Make it easy for a resident to contact you about an event.
Call/Text/Email Buttons
Give access to a community contact using buttons that open the default phone, messaging, or email application on a device.
- How You Set it Up: Create a smart button with the call, text, or email function. Insert phone numbers and email addresses.
- How it Works: Resident taps the Call, Text, or Email Button within the event tile to activate the device app with pre-populated information.
Scenario: View the menu of the Friday night food truck in advance.
File Download
Display documents like a PDF or image file.
- How You Set it Up: Create a smart button with the file download function. Upload the relevant file and add the button to your event.
- How it Works: Resident clicks on the smart button within the event tile to open the file. They save the file to their device by selecting download.
Scenario: Add a community event to your calendar.
Put in Calendar
Add an event date and time in the device default calendar app.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select regular as the category to generate the calendar feature.
- How it Works: Resident clicks on the smart button within the event tile and opens the default calendar with pre-populated information.
Scenario: Easily navigate to an event location.
Directions
Provide directions to an event by connecting to the device default mapping app.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and add the location to generate Directions.
- How it Works: Resident clicks on the smart button within the event tile and opens the default mapping app to show turn-by-turn directions to that event.
Scenario: Share images from a past event.
Image Gallery
Display multiple images in a gallery format.
- How You Set it Up: Create a smart button with the image gallery function. Upload your desired pictures and add the button on the event.
- How it Works: Resident clicks on the smart button and views images through a modal over the event tile.
Personalization

Provide automated and customized opportunities to curate the in-app experience.
Scenario: Customize your Home Feed.
“Like” to Home Feed
Save an event to the Home Feed to keep personalized interests front and center.
- How You Set it Up: Create an event and select regular as the category to activate the “Like” heart icon.
- How it Works: Resident clicks the heart icon within an event to generate a saved Status Flag and duplicate it onto the Home Feed.
Scenario: Display a list of events hosted by a community partner.
Curated Lists & Tags
Make it easy to find a list of similar events by adding a Tag.
- How You Set it Up: Create a smart button with the list events function. Add a Tag to an event to display it within that specific list.
- How it Works: Resident clicks on a designated smart button located at the top of the Home Feed and views associated events.
Scenario: Inform prospective homeowners of a community event.
Public Views
Allow an unknown app user to view a community event.
- How You Set it Up: Work with an Alosant Customer Success Manager to create a public User Role.
- How it Works: Public user accesses the community app and sees event details within the event tile.
