Image Guidelines

Your Alosant app is image-forward. Choosing the right images is a critical step to creating the best experience for your residents or members.

Images used in events and on pages should follow these guidelines:

● Horizontal orientation

● W 1200 x H 800 pixels and 70-75 ppi (resolution)

● Accepted formats include PNG or JPEG

○ NOTE: PDFs cannot be used for an image

It is equally important to consider the image’s composition:

● Center the image focus point

● Do not include images with words wherever possible

○ If words must be part of the image, ensure they are centered

● Ensure photos are clear and not blurry

Images will be zoomed and cropped in the app presentation. The exact image shown in the app will vary based upon the device operating system and screen size.

Below are two image examples and how they appear in the app pages or events, including results from one example iOS device and one example Android device.

Example Image To Use

This original image has specifications of 1200x800px, 72ppi, and is in horizontal orientation.

When placed into the app, the photo is cropped and zoomed in two possible ways: first in the list view and second in the event or page itself. The red lines below show approximate cropping for each usage location.

Overall the image is still clear and focused, and remains centered in both scenarios. Examples are shown in iOS and Android devices below.

Example Image To Avoid

This original image has specifications of 675x900px, 72ppi, and is in vertical orientation.

When placed into the app, the photo is also cropped and zoomed in two possible ways: first in the list view and second in the event or page itself. Additionally, due to the image requirements, an image in the vertical orientation will be stretched to fit for scale within the Alosant platform. The red lines below show approximate cropping for each usage location.

When an image must be made wider, the result is an image that appears distorted. Examples are shown in iOS and Android devices below.
